Maybe a bit of “why” we put so much energy into Flowers!
by Jeana Steiner

First, a big thank you to everyone who purchased tulip bulbs from us last year! We’re so excited to see the results of your planting and can’t wait to watch all those beautiful blooms unfurl. If you have any pictures, we’d absolutely love to see them – please share them with us!
And now, for what’s happening here at the farm… The tulips are just starting to poke up, a few little pops of color against the brown. It’s that time of year, full of anticipation. You know, it reminds me of the Daffodil Festival. I was Daffodil Queen back in ’99, and I think that’s when I really understood how much joy flowers can bring. And now, seeing these tiny tulips, I’m just buzzing with excitement for what’s to come.
We put so much energy into our flowers here at the farm. It’s more than just planting and watering. It’s about watching, waiting, and knowing that each bud holds a little burst of happiness. It’s about creating those moments of pure joy, those little connections that make it all worthwhile. I remember last summer, a little girl came running through the dahlia field, her face lit up like one of the blossoms. She picked a bright orange one and held it up to her mom, and that simple moment… that’s why we do it. It’s those connections, those shared moments of wonder, that make all the effort so worthwhile. Like that gentleman at the Chelan Farmers Market said, “Be careful, they are addicting.” And he was right!
Flowers have this incredible way of connecting us to the present moment. They remind us of the beauty that’s all around, even in the midst of busy days and everyday tasks. It’s a gentle reminder to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the simple things. It’s a chance to step away from the rush and find a little peace in the vibrant colors and delicate scents. And honestly, who can resist a smile when they see a field of colorful blooms?
Soon, very soon, our tulip field will be bursting with color, thousands of them! It’s going to be a sight to see, and we can’t wait for you all to come pick your own. Mark your calendars, because you won’t want to miss it. It’s going to be a real celebration of spring, a celebration of the simple joys that flowers bring to our lives.
And finally, thank you all for being such a wonderful part of our farm community. It brings us so much joy to help you experience the beauty and wonder of flowers. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to sharing many more blooming seasons with you!

Cheers,
